Want to do something positive for the planet? Put your yard to work feeding pollinators, sucking up carbon, and using water wisely. This virtual class will provide the information you need to make your landscape not only environmentally-positive but also beautiful and useful to your family. Students will receive a handout with an overview of ecological gardening practices as well as a list of recommended plants.

Instructor Susannah Shmurak researches and writes widely on environmental issues, gardening, and green living. Her work has appeared in magazines such as Northern Gardener, Mother Earth Living, Ensia, and Sierra as well as numerous websites. Her blog, HealthyGreenSavvy, focuses on practical shortcuts to eco-friendly living, easy natural remedies, and foraging and gardening tips.
