In this webinar, Dr. Maloney will discuss various aspects of Lyme Disease and other tick-borne illnesses. Dr. Maloney will provide information on where you might encounter ticks, how to reduce the risk of getting bitten, the potential symptoms and signs of infection, and the diagnosis and treatment. We will also take a brief look at other tick-borne illnesses and how to avoid them. This free webinar is chocked full of information that every Minnesotan should know to protect themselves as they plan to head out into the great outdoors.
Dr. Elizabeth L. Maloney is a Minnesota family physician. She is the founder and president of Partnership for Tick-borne Diseases Education, a non-profit organization providing medical education programming and materials on tick-borne diseases for physicians and other healthcare professionals. Dr. Maloney also acts as a consultant to government agencies and private organizations. She has served on three different subcommittees of the federally mandated Tick-borne Diseases Working group and was selected to be a peer reviewer for the Canadian Institutes of Health Research. Dr. Maloney enjoys speaking publicly on tick-borne diseases and emphasizes the need to use readily available tick-bite prevention strategies consistently.
