Understanding Water

Tuesday, May 24, 6:30 - 7:30 pm

Location: Lyndale Gardens Amphitheater

Water is life, the blood that flows through Earth. All living things have a relationship with water and depend on it for health. Unfortunately, many of us have been trained to think about water as a resource rather than a living system. In this workshop, we will explore our water paradigm, the water cycle, the properties of water, and discuss strategies you can use for working with water on land in your circle of care.

Working with Plants

Tuesday, June 28, 6:30 - 7:30 pm

Location: Tiny Diner

Plants produce food for most of life on Earth. Our understanding of plants is rapidly changing as we discover the complexity of how plants communicate and live in community. As humans, we have a role and responsibility in nurturing plant life. This workshop will discuss some of the latest science, the ecological partnerships to cultivate in your work with plants, design principles you can use in organizing plants into communities, and top tips for supporting plant life during climate change.

Working with Urban Soil

Tuesday, August 16, 6:30 - 7:30 pm

Location: Gibbs Farm, 2097 Larpenteur Ave W, St Paul, MN 55113

Healthy soil is alive with a diversity of organisms. A living soil delivers nutrients to plants, increases water holding capacity, provides habitat, and creates the conditions for growing nutrient dense foods and nectar-rich plants. In this workshop we will discuss the soil ecosystem, the latest science in growing nutrient dense foods, the challenges of urban soils, and ways to regenerate it.

Cultivating a Deeper Land Relationship

Tuesday, September 13, 6:30 - 7:30 pm

Location: Gibbs Farm, 2097 Larpenteur Ave W, St Paul, MN 55113

Take this opportunity to learn strategies to cultivate a deeper connection with land in your circle of care. In this workshop, we will share lessons, stories, assessment tools, and practices to help you get to know the land more deeply, appreciate it, regenerate it, and have fun in the process.
