Floral Design Basics – Bring the Outside In! [In-person]

Location: Gibbs Farm, 2097 Larpenteur Ave W, St. Paul, MN 55113 (in the red barn)

The MSHS Judging & Exhibiting Committee will present floral design basics in this fun drop-in style workshop. This workshop will offer a brief history of floral design and basic concepts of harmony, rhythm, balance, and proportions. We’ll show that you don’t need to know all the rules and principles of design to produce striking floral arrangements, nor do we need to spend a fortune on expensive cut flowers. Instead, we will show you how to use common plants growing in our yards and neighborhoods, discuss seasonal availability, and briefly talk about how to plan a cutting garden with plants that will bloom all season long.  

*Admission into Gibbs Farm is included in your class registration fee. Please feel free to stay after the class and tour the farm. When you arrive at Gibbs, please park in the parking lot off of Cleveland Ave and check in at the entrance.
